Scholarships for College-Bound High School Seniors


The Cal Coast Cares Foundation is pleased to offer the James L McPheters California Coast Credit Union High School Scholarship Program. In 2017, two scholarships for $2,500 each and ten scholarships for $1,000 each will be awarded to twelve college-bound high school seniors in San Diego and/or Riverside counties.

Announcing New Scholarships for Foster Students


The Cal Coast Cares Foundation is pleased to announce Foster Student Scholarships for college-bound high school seniors and current college students who are in or have been in the foster care program in San Diego and/or Riverside counties. A total of $10,000 in scholarships will be awarded to assist students in furthering their education at accredited colleges or universities.


Scholarship applications are available at here. All applications must be received or postmarked no later than March 11, 2017.


The Fisher & Talwar $1,000 General Scholarship is now available to students currently pursuing or plan on pursuing a college degree.
Eligibility Available to students who are pursuing a degree (graduate or undergraduate): Deadline to Apply: November 15th, 2017. To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria: -Must be a U.S. citizen. -Must be a full-time student who is currently attending (or planning to attend full-time) an accredited institution of higher education. -Must provide proof of current enrollment or plans to enroll in an accredited institution of higher education. If you have not received acceptance, you may still apply, but be sure to provide proof of acceptance and enrollment for the scholarship to be released. -Must have a minimum of 3.0 GPA. Award A check for $1000 will be made payable to the award recipient’s university or college to be used solely for tuition and related expenses. The Fisher & Talwar scholarship recipient will be notified on or about December 15, 2017. Application To receive the award, recipient must provide the following documentation: A transcript that reflects the recipient’s current standing with a minimum required GPA of 3.0 Proof of admission and enrollment. Application Materials & Topic To apply, applicants must submit: -Completed application. -A 500 word essay on the following topic: Who or what is your inspiration for pursuing an education? -A valid transcript reflecting current standing and minimum required GPA of 3.0. -Proof of acceptance and enrollment. Failure to include all required materials will result in immediate rejection of the application. Cox Scholars Program!
Cox Communications is proud to support education in the communities we serve and we are pleased to officially launch our 2017 Cox Scholars program. For more than fifteen years, Cox Charities has been awarding college scholarships to graduating high school seniors looking to pursue their dreams of a college education. This year, up to $100,000 in scholarships will be awarded to students across our Southern California service area (San Diego County, Orange County, Palos Verdes and Santa Barbara.)  The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation provides one of the largest scholarships in the country for high-achieving students with financial need.

Over half (54 percent) of the students who won the Jack Kent Cooke College Scholarship last year had taken the PSAT/NMSQT.

The Cooke College Scholarship seeks out underrepresented students of all races, backgrounds, and ethnicities using the PSAT/NMSQT.
The Cooke College Scholarship:

  • Offers up to $40,000 per year for four years of undergraduate study at any accredited college or university
  • Can be used toward total cost of attendance, not just tuition, room, and board
  • Supports study-abroad programs and internships
  • A chance to receive $50,000 a year for graduate study, up to four years

Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Choir San Diego Scholarship

is pleased to offer scholarships to high school seniors who will be majoring in the areas of visual and performing arts. See any member of the Counseling and Wellness team for more information.

Scholarship: Navy Wives Clubs of America 

Eligibility: A dependent (son/daughter) of an active duty, retired with pay, or deceased of the US Navy, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard. Applicant must have a minimum 2.5 GPA and plans to attend school beyond high school.

Scholarship: Aspiring Fashion Professional Scholarship

Scholarship: Oz Foundation College Scholarship
Oz Foundation is a family organization that has funded the college education of students from low-income backgrounds. The ideal candidate is someone who is presently attending high school or college and has demonstrated that he or she is capable of college/university work but does not have the financial resources to attend college. An Oz Foundation College Scholarship application is attached.
