WASC Accreditation & Charter Petition

The Charter Petition for e³ Civic High (formerly named Downtown Charter High) was submitted to the San Diego Unified School District on September 15, 2010.
e³ Civic High is a new public high school located on the sixth and seventh floor of the San Diego Central Library in downtown San Diego at 395 11th Avenue.  We opened August of 2013 with an entering class of approximately 265 ninth and tenth graders, e³ Civic High will eventually serve approximately 530 high school students in grades 9 – 12.
Based on an innovative educational design and partnering with the downtown community and the New San Diego Central Library, students at e³ Civic High will learn, create, and excel in preparation for college, career, and civic engagement. e³ Civic High is an “infused learning” environment. A place where woven throughout the curriculum are project-based activities to explore:
  • Civic Leadership and Service
  • Cultural and Social Literacy
  • Career Preparation through Internships and Job Shadowing
  • New Media and Information Technology
  • Nutrition, Health, and Community Wellness
