Dr. Joel Tapia has served in education for 17 years as a teacher, project coordinator, associate principal, and school principal in the USA and China. He earned his Doctor of Education (Ed.D) in Organizational Change and Leadership from University of Southern California. Prior to that, Dr. Tapia attended San Diego State University where he earned two Masters (Curriculum and Leadership), K-12 Administrative and Bilingual Teaching Credentials, and a Bachelors in Liberal Studies. As a lifelong learner, Dr. Tapia has continued his education by attending Harvard's Principal Center where he earned a Certificate in Leadership. Currently, Dr. Tapia is finishing his last course of the innovative Certificate in School Management and Leadership (CSML) program offered by Harvard Business School and Harvard Graduate School of Education. In his spare time, Dr. Tapia enjoys coffee, reading, music, and exploring new life-hacks. Dr. Tapia passionately believes in the mission and vision of e3 Civic High and is honored to serve and support all its scholars, families, community, and staff.
