Sylvia Montijo was born and raised in San Diego, California. She graduated from Helix Charter High School in La Mesa, then went on to graduate from Syracuse University, earning her Bachelor’s in Selected Studies in Education and International Relations.
After graduating, Ms. Montijo moved to New York City and taught as an English Language Arts and Special Education teacher. She moved back to San Diego and has started working at e3 as a Learning Facilitator Intern in Special Education as she pursues her Masters in Special Education through National University. She is passionate about ensuring that curriculum is both culturally responsive and universally designed so that all students feel heard, represented, and included in their learning environment.
Ms. Montijo loves to cook, play with her dogs, and go for nature walks in her spare time. She is excited to work alongside the SPED team and e3 and looks forward to creating relationships with her scholars!
